The Vegan Beauty Box – Summer Special!

Hi all!

For Christmas, my Mum bought me the Vegan Beauty Box (December Summer Edition) and I took it with me to Cairns to review and try all of the products. In this post, I’m going to provide a quick run down of each item and discuss whether I found them worth it or not.

6 items valued up to over $100!

1.) HAPPY EYES ANTI-WRINKLE EYE PATCHES:

Valued at $24.95, the Happy Eyes Patches caught my ‘eye'(haha) first because of their unique packaging. To use, simply remove the patches and place them under your eyes. Relax for 20-30 minutes before gently removing and wash your face with warm water. I found the patches to be ultra smooth and soft under my eyes. I don’t have wrinkles yet but when I removed them after 30 minutes the skin around my eyes looked brighter and much clearer. I would definitely recommend buying this product. It’s better to use anti-wrinkle treatments before you begin getting them so anybody can use it. I also love some of the natural ingredients on the packet such as Rose Essential Oil and Seaweed. And to top it all off, you feel like Lady Gaga when you’re wearing them!

The patches kind of matched my bikini!

2.) SUGARVENOM PREMIUM FAUX EYELASHES:

Valued at $12.95, this product was probably my least favourite in the box. The reason for this is, I’ve only ever worn fake eyelashes once in my life and it isn’t really for me. I will keep them however and maybe wear them at my weddding. I like that this brand is from Korea and are strictly against animal testing. They only use 2 plant based ingredients in the eyelashes and include a non-toxic glue. The company is currently working on producing a 100% natural, vegan eyelash glue but for now the one they have included is devoid of common chemicals or beeswax.

3.) SAMBORA BEACH TOES – VIRGIN SAND SHADE:

Valued at $18.95, this product comes from the UK and their website offers so many shades and additional products. I was given the Virgin Sand shade which is pure white. I painted my nails but found it looked a lot like wearing liquid paper. I guess I’m not a fan of white nail polish itself but I plan to keep it and wear it on my toes next time. It was easy to apply, dried instantly and lasted several days. The shade is meant to represent white sand beaches and bright shells. It certainly has that oceanic feel to it. I really like this brand and enjoyed navigating their website.

4.) ETHIQUE BOMBSHELL SELF TANNING BAR:

Valued at $45.00, the brand Ethique is based in Christchurch, New Zealand. The self-tanning bar is in the shape of a heart and it smells absolutely delicious with vanilla and cocoa butter as the main ingredients. It’s best to use the bar once you come out of the shower or 30 minutes after you’ve moisturised. Simply slide the bar up and down your legs and use your fingers to rub in the rest. I used it in the afternoon and whilst I forgot to take a before and after picture, I did notice my usually pale legs a little more bronzed and glowing. I’m going to keep using this all throughout summer as it’s easy to apply and smells so damn good!

5.) FLORA REMEDIA – UPLIFTING TREATMENT:

Valued at $24.95, the Flora Remedia range stocks all sorts of hair and body treatments. I was given the Uplifting Treatment which is made from Coconut Oil, Sweet Orange, Clove Leaf, Sweet Fennel, Cinnamon Bark, Cardamom and Black Pepper. The Flower Essences used are Olive and Hornbeam. To use, simply roll over your pulse points such as the inside of your wrists, temples and behind the ears. I can mainly smell the Sweet Orange and Cinnamon when I apply it. It’s a really handy product that is very soothing and used to balance moods. Overall, I can see myself continuing to use this regularly and buying more once I run out.

6.) THE LITTLE ALCHEMIST – WILD APPLE & MINT ANTIOXIDANT BALANCING MIST:

Valued at $36.00, this product was my favourite in the Vegan Beauty Box. I’ve always wanted to own something from The Little Alchemist so I was thrilled to receive this product. It was an absolute lifesaver during my fever. Just a couple of sprays helped cool my burning face. It includes Goji Berry, Gotu Kola (a herb that aids anxiety) and Bilberry Leaf. It smells beautiful and is suitable for all skin types. It’s recommended you spray after cleansing but before moisturising. I have found this product to be very useful and convenient during some of the difficult times I mentioned. Check out the Little Alchemist Website for lots more vegan beauty goodies!

I hope you enjoyed my Beauty Box Review! There may not be that many products but because they are worth so much, I can see why there aren’t more. Overall, I was really happy with my box and loved the diverse range of products I got to try!

The Vegan Beauty Box is delivered every second month so if you’re interested – click here and order yours! Even if you aren’t a vegan, it is so much better to use products like these that are free from nasty chemicals and harsh ingredients. Go natural, go organic, go vegan!

Peace & Love xoxox

  1. This really is a goody box – you don’t know what you’ll get until you open it up and riffle through the contents. I really do think you look like Lady Gaga with those eye patches on. In fact, I think it will also suit if you are going to a party 😀 I too am not a fan of eye lashes myself as they tend to irritate my eyes. Then again, big lashes have never appealed to me in general – I like the natural look a lot 🙂 Hope you are well Bec and take care <3

    1. Thank you Mabel! It’s true there are lots of goodies and it’s always exciting opening up the box! Big lashes have never appealed to me either. I unfortunately am too unwell to travel to Taiwan so I’ve had to cancel my trip 🙁 I hope you are well too xx
