A bit Hippy – Beauty ‘To Go’ Pack!

Hi there!

During the week, I was sent the ‘To Go’ pack from 100% vegan & cruelty-free Australian brand A bit Hippy. Navigating their website, blog & Instagram had me falling hard. Not only do I love their name but their website is colourful, quirky and sells a wide range of beauty, skincare and even baby products! Today I am going to review all the products sent to me in the ‘To Go’ pack including an extra sample that came in the adorable bag featured below!

What I love about these products is that they contain the most natural, soothing ingredients without any animal exploitation. Free from parabens, silicone, aluminium and other nasty, harsh chemicals, this company is committed to the environment, our health and the planet so they already win big with me! In a couple of weeks, Francis and I are going away for a couple of nights to an all vegan bed & breakfast to celebrate our 3 year anniversary/my birthday and I can’t wait to take the ‘To Go’ pack with me! Without further ado, I want to review my personal experience with each product within the bag:

a.) ‘Nothing To Smell Here’ – Natural Cream Deodorant

I have to admit, I have struggled with finding a good cruelty-free deodorant as a lot of them are too light on the scent and do not last very long. The second I applied this aluminium free roll-on, I was reminded of fresh laundry and pine trees mixed together. The combination was heavenly and I was impressed with its longevity. On the back, the company explain why aluminium is bad for our bodies and their use of magnesium mixed with essential oils combats the bacteria which produces the smell of sweat. I’m currently alternating between Eco Tan’s Coconut Roll-On & Kiss My Face’s Lavender Roll-On but I think once they run out I will continue using this brand as it really works!

b.) ‘Natural & Vegan Lip Balm’ – Pomegranate Flavour

Yum! This lip balm is super addictive already! I would’ve either received the SPF Coconut & Lime, the Moisturising Pineapple & Ginger or the Tinted Pomegranate. I’m happy with the latter as I’m naturally pale and a bit of colour goes a long way! Sweetened with Stevia and softened with Shea Butter, this balm is soothing and tangy plus it’s non-toxic so licking your lips after application isn’t a crime. I’m really going to enjoy using this product during the harsh, cooler months when my lips get cracked and dry. I’m also looking forward to trying the other two flavours once this one has been used up!

c.) ‘Ditchin’ the Itchin’ Scalp Loving Shampoo & ‘Say no to Silicone’ Scalp Loving Conditioner

Even though the bottles are small, I really loved the feel & scent of both the shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo targets dry, damaged and itchy scalps with products so natural and free from chemicals that the ingredients list is actually edible (although it is obviously not recommended to consume). The conditioner is free from silicone and filled with nourishing jojoba & coconut oil. Both smell divine; like a woodland forest. The after effects left my hair silky, smooth and soft.

d.) ‘Rice & Fresh’ – Face Wash for the Body

This product was definitely my favourite in the pack. Made with Raw Rice Bran, Peppermint & Ylang Ylang essential oils, I was in love with the smell and feel after application. The other benefit to this product is its versatility. You can use it as a facial cleanser, moisturiser and body wash in the shower! My face felt so clear and fresh after use. I will definitely be purchasing the bigger bottle once my current cleanser runs out.

e.) SAMPLE – ‘Don’t Act Your Age’ – Anti-Ageing Face Moisturiser

I received the anti-ageing moisturiser as an additional sample and was pleasantly surprised by the generous amount in the tub. There is a common misconception that you should only apply anti-ageing creams when wrinkles begin to form but the point of the term ‘anti’ is to prevent wrinkles as best as possible. The cream is made up of liquorice root, essential oils and Vitamin C. Just massage the lotion into your skin at body temperature and enjoy the benefits as you age gracefully. This product is definitely worth investing in!

Overall, I really enjoyed the ‘To Go’ pack and all of its wonderful products. I have just ordered the Natural Tinted Face Cream so I’m looking forward to trying out their cruelty-free makeup range. I absolutely love supporting companies that are so dedicated to the environment, animals and overall wellbeing of others so please support them by visitng their website here!

  1. This is such a lovely review and A Bit Hippy sounds like a very cool brand that is good for you 🙂 I have to agree with you on using anti-ageing creams. Never too early to protect your skin from the sun and dehydration. Even chemical from beauty products can do damage to our face. Thank you for introducing me to a healthier, cruelty lifestyle. It is so interesting to know more about what goes into food and products, and I’m all the more wiser on choosing the best for my body <3
