I’m here today to share with you some drool-worthy food photography!
There is a common misconception that vegans only eat salad and fruit but this couldn’t be further from the truth! Vegans can eat absolutely everything just in a plant based form. I can almost guarantee you we eat more than most people because vegan food is a lot lower in calories. Not only that, but it is equally delicious, significantly more healthy and does not impact on an animals life or the planet. So without further ado…this is what we eat!
VEGAN PIZZA
You can add vegan cheese to your pizza and even layer it with mock meats made from wheat and soy. They taste just like the real thing minus the cruelty! You can have vegan pizza without cheese and layer it with lots of roast veggies, olives, mushrooms and more!
VEGAN LASAGNE/PASTA
Delicious vegetable lasagne with coconut cheese on top! You can’t tell me this doesn’t look appetising!Vegan spaghetti bolognese complete with mock meat sauce! This was one of the best I’ve ever tried!
VEGAN YOGHURT/ICE CREAM
Vegan yoghurt is made with coconut, rice, almond and various other plant milks! You can top with granola, fruit, nuts, seeds, vegan chocolate…the list goes on!As mentioned, vegan ice cream can be made up from a variety of plant milks. Dairy is filled with pus, growth hormones, saturated fat, cholesterol and more nasty products that contribute to cancer, weight-gain, osteoporosis and heart disease. You can easily get healthy, cruelty-free options that taste even better, trust me!
VEGAN BURGERS
Vegan mayo & vegan cheese make the perfect, plant-based burger!Vegan burger patties are typically made from veggies, mushrooms, lentils, beetroot, wheat, tofu and more! You would not believe the similarities in taste and texture!
VEGAN MEXICAN FOOD
Guac is a vegan’s best friend! Load it up on nachos, burritos, enchiladas, wraps and fajitas!Mexican is one of the easiest cuisines to veganise. You can have rice, beans, wraps, avocado, veggies, salsa and even vegan cheese and sour cream!
VEGAN TREATS
Vegan pancakes are easily made without butter, eggs and milk and are much healthier! Try plant based milks, oat flour and even mashed bananas! Top with berries, vegan yoghurt or ice cream and lots of maple syrup!A vegan cupcake tastes exactly like a regular cupcake. Butter & eggs are so unnecessary once you realise you can’t taste the difference between the two. A vegan cupcake is heaven in your mouth!
VEGAN ETHIOPIAN FOOD
Most African restaurants serve vegan plates to share. So many delicious veggies and legumes cooked in spices and served on Injera Bread which resembles a fluffy pancake. So delicious!!
VEGAN ASIAN FOOD
Dumplings anyone? Oh and don’t forget about the steamed buns! One of my favourite meals is veggie dumplings and red bean or taro buns! You can’t go wrong with sushi! I’ve eaten sushi rolls filled with avocado, tempeh, tofu, veggies, pumpkin, sweet potato and mock meats.Rice paper rolls can be filled with all sorts of plant based goodness!
* Vegans can also indulge in Indian curries, Thai stir frys, Vietnamese courses (check out my Vegan in Vietnam post), Chinese dishes with mock meats and more!
VEGAN ISRAELI/GREEK FOOD
Give me a delicious falafel kebab with hummus, tabbouleh, veggies & Turkish wraps any day!Israeli cuisine is simply divine. Tahini, chickpeas, quinoa, couscous, potatoes and lots of veggies oh yes!
VEGAN AMERICAN FOOD
Vegan ‘Meatball’ Sub! I’ve eaten vegan ‘wings’, ‘ribs’, hot dogs, pretzels and bagels!
So…still think we eat just salad? Vegan food is in no way restrictive or bland. It is full of flavour and variety. Give it a go and ditch the animal products! The beautiful beings of this world, our planet and your health will thank you!
The more I get to know vegan food from you, the more I find it appetising and see it as a healthy diet. I love all of the food you introduced here, and can’t pick a favourite. Well, if I have to, it would be the pizza since I love pizza and love them with mushrooms and olives on top. I also really like lasagna. The other day I had lasagna at Gopals in the city and I really enjoyed (though it claims to have dairy, the cheese). I liked the fact that it was not overly filling and it tasted really good, just as good as the ones I’ve eaten with meat. These days, I try to eat at least one meatless dinner a week 🙂 Hope you are staying warm this winter, Bec. Take care, talk and catch up soon my lovely hippie friend <3 x
Hi Mabel! I’m so glad to share how delicious and appealing vegan food is to others. Even just having one meatless dinner a week is helping so that’s great news!! I’m staying as warm as I can but I really don’t like winter 🙁 catch up soon sweet! xx
These all look delicious! Proof vegan food can be incredibly tasty!
Thank you! That was exactly what I wanted to show! Anything can be made into a healthier and tasty vegan version!
I don’t know how you can survive just eating broccoli and cabbage!
Haha I know right?! I’m so hungry all the time!
