July 3rd – My Favourite Quotes…

Hi all!

Welcome to Day 3 of the 31 Day Blogging Challenge in July! I’m really enjoying this journey so far! Today, I have been asked to share my favourite quotes. This was quite difficult as there are so many fantastic ones out there. I managed to narrow it down to my top 3 and have sourced them all from the ‘Start Where You Are’ Journal by Meera Lee Patel (read my June Favourites to learn more about it).

These three affirmations resonate deeply within me. I live by their words & always feel a tug at my heartstrings whenever I read them. I hope they make you feel something too:

1.)

Ah William Shakespeare…how his words of wit, love & tragedy affect us all, even today. This quote speaks of self-love, authenticity and individuality. If everybody lived by this quote, there would be no jealousy, comparison, competition or insecurity. Whenever we feel inadequate or self-conscious, we need to remember these very words: ‘this above all: to thine own self be true.’ Let this mantra guide you through life and allow you to feel gratitude just for being born as you are. There is nothing more beautiful than seeing somebody shine their true light.

2.)

I remember the very first time I read this quote a year and a half ago. I was searching for something online when my eyes fell upon these life-changing words. It took me a while to digest why these words had such an impact on me so let me explain this as best I can. The way I interpret these words is that no matter how much the world tries to push me back or break my spirit, I will always come back fighting with my good heart, kind words and positive attitude. There have been many instances in my life where people have attempted to bring me down and project their insecurities on my sensitive nature but I haven’t been broken yet nor will I ever be. I will always be a loving, caring person ready to trust others and see the good in them. I will always be true to myself without apology. I will always exist with a pure heart and open mind…

3.)

My final, favourite quote is one that everybody should be mindful of. Self-love really is everything. It sets the tone for every choice that we make and ultimately how our life turns out. The more we love ourselves, the happier we will be. The only way to reach this place of unconditional self-love is to take the journey within. We need to dig deep (even if that means finding places of pain) and be completely, 100% honest with ourselves in the process. Every single day we have the opportunity to practice self-love and this continues until our last breath. If you want self-love, you will not find it in other people or places. You will only find it within so take that step and enjoy the life-changing journey.

I hope you enjoyed my 3 favourite quotes! Please let me know down below your favourites. I love reading new affirmations and mantras. See you tomorrow!

Peace & Love xoxo

  1. Love these three quotes. I really like the Albert Camus one, and agree with you that self-love is such an important thing. We can certainly be hurt by words because relationships and people around us make us stronger people. Then again, it is only by listening to our true self and doing what we love that will make us uniquely us 🙂

    1. Self-love is everything 🙂 I am so glad you liked the quotes. The power of a quote can heal a person or give them perspective during a difficult time in their life ❤ x
