July 12th – What’s Inside My Fridge?

Advertisements

Hi all!

Welcome to Day 12 of my 31 Day Blogging Challenge in July! As you know, both Francis and I are vegans. We typically eat whole foods that are nutrient dense and filling. We did a fruit & vegetable shop on the weekend so today I will share with you what we bought and what we currently have in our fridge & freezer:

I love the variety of colours in this picture! From left to right we picked up 2 kiwis, a punnet of blueberries, a bag of passion fruits (I love putting them on my warm oatmeal), a punnet of strawberries, a bunch of bananas (I don’t put these in the fridge), a pack of brussel sprouts, a pack of carrots, one yellow capsicum, 2 dutch cream potatoes (also don’t go in the fridge), a packet of baby spinach and some fennel!

I also have a bag of dutch cream potatoes and sweet potatoes in my cupboard just as a side note.

Here are all the sauces we keep in our fridge! Francis uses the hot sauces on the right and the rest I like to put in our curries and dinners. The Tamari Black Bean sauce on the far left is so good!

As you can see, I have crushed garlic, blackstrap molasses (very high in calcium) and crushed ginger. These are all essential in making sauces or for adding flavour to dishes!

Every morning for breakfast, Francis has Weetbix with soy milk so these are all his. The good thing about this particular brand is, it’s fortified with B-12. I rarely drink plant milks as I prefer to soak my oats in water but when I do, I love rice and oat milk!

It’s always a good idea to keep some bags of frozen veggies stocked in your freezer. I keep chopped onions because cutting them myself is a crying disaster! I am in love with mint peas so I make sure we have a bag handy & diced pumpkin is neat to throw into a curry or pasta dish. I just ran out of my frozen corn kernels but they are a big part of our meals as well!

These frozen meals from Amy’s kitchen are great for a quick fix! Please note that not all of her products are vegan so make sure to check! I don’t eat them personally because I find them to be quite processed and high in sodium but Francis keeps them on hand for when I’m out and he can’t be bothered cooking for one. The brands Fry’s & Linda McCartney also make great vegan frozen meals and products.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post. I’m glad it didn’t ask to show what was in our pantry as that would be a very long blog post! Our fridge was actually quite sparse compared to how it is normally but it was just a quick shop on the weekend which I will add to during the week. What’s a staple in your fridge?

See you tomorrow!

Peace & Love xoxo
