Hi all!
Welcome to Day 22 of my 31 Day Blogging Challenge in July! Today, I am going to share the best thing to happen this year…so far! As our wedding and honeymoon haven’t happened yet, I will share my highlight of 2016 as of today. That would be, without a doubt, my trip to Taiwan to visit my sister!
On March 29th, Mum & I flew from Melbourne to Hong Kong and then straight to Taipei! For those of you that don’t know, my sister has been living in Taiwan for a year teaching English to children. We hadn’t seen her since she left in June 2015 so it was really exciting to board a plane and spend 10 days with her. We spent 3 days exploring Taipei (staying in a really cute Air BnB) and then the remaining week in Taichung in a hotel (which was only an hour train ride away) where my sister lives and teaches.
Taiwan is also the vegan capital of the world so if you’re interested in the best places to eat – check out my past blog here! The weather was reasonably warm so we spent a lot of our trip exploring places outdoors and meeting lots of Lauren’s friends. It was so much fun just being together the 3 of us. My absolute favourite memory was zipping through the streets at night on the back of my sister’s scooter. That feeling of freedom and excitement cannot be explained!

We saw castles, lakes, rainbow villages, stunning museums & the cutest characters! We were also incredibly lucky to spend the day playing with Lauren’s roommate’s kindergarten kids! Here are some more pics:

As you can see, it was an incredibly memorable and special trip for us. It was wonderful to see my sister living so happily and free. She is incredibly inspiring and I look forward to her coming home for good in September!
What is the best thing to have happened to you this year so far? Have you ever been to Taiwan?
See you tomorrow! Peace & Love xoxo
I had no idea Taiwan was the vegan capital of the world until you posted so many vegan photos of it 😍 You all look so happy, what a fun trip! One of the best things this year for me is having you as a friend x
Yes! The majority of Taiwanese are Buddhist and so a lot of the restaurants are vegetarian and vegan! Thanks Mabel! I am so lucky to have you as my friend too! It’s been so fun building our knitted family 🙂 ❤️❤️
Taiwan looks beautiful, and I’ve just checked out your food post. Wow! What a vegan paradise. If I ever get enough money to travel again, Taiwan is on the list.
Oh yay thank you so much! You will be spoiled for choice over there trust me! X
