Hi all!
Let me tell you about the wonderful weekend I just had. For my Mum’s birthday and Christmas present, my sister and I surprised her with a glamping getaway experience! The three of us had never been glamping before and boy was it a lot of fun.
For those of you that don’t know what glamping is, it’s basically luxury camping. We booked through Happy Glamper, a company based in the Mornington Peninsula, VIC. You have the option to pick from their list of recommended campgrounds (we chose the Iluka Retreat) and they set up the entire tent for you and pull it down once you leave. We selected the 5m Bell Tent for 2 people and paid a bit extra to include a third bed. What I loved most about our tent was its bohemian look both inside and out. It was filled with colourful rugs, carpets and unique homely pieces. I felt like I was in the middle of an Arabian bazaar or magical forest. Here is a photo diary of our time away:
The Iluka Retreat itself was beautiful and secluded. It is a 36 acre property available for campers, glampers and those who wish to stay in the lodges. You have to share the communal bathrooms, showers and kitchens but that’s all part of the experience! I loved waking up to the sounds of the birds each morning and opening our tent to greet the sunlight.

On our first full day, we drove to Sorrento for lunch and spent the afternoon at the quaint beach town of Mt Martha. I have never seen water so clear!

On our last day, we visited Ashcombe Maze & Lavender Garden which is situated not even a minute away from the Iluka Retreat. It was such an enchanting place – I felt like Alice in Wonderland!

On the way home, we stopped at Wombat Cafe in Dromana which is 100% vegan and cruelty-free. The food was delicious! I had the roasted vegetable wrap with plant-based cheese and my sister had the loaded nachos.
I really enjoyed my weekend away with my family and glamping was such a unique summer experience that I will never forget. I highly recommend trying it out yourself with those you love.

It looks so big in the tent! Almost like a hotel room :O That banana pencil book is a nice touch. Mr Wobbles would have felt right at home…
Is that a sunrise or sunset? It looks so beautiful, and it is a beautiful landscape shot! The beach at Sorrento looks stunning. I’ve never been there but hope to go at some point. Did you get to ride on that blue boat? 🙂
Thank you my friend! It was so big inside! Haha Mr Wobbles would. The pencil case had scrabble tiles in it. It was a sunset photo 🙂 I kept thinking Mabel would take the most beautiful photos here! The beaches are beautiful and I didn’t go on the boat, I really dislike boats hahaha xx
