April 3rd-Who Is My Favourite Disney Prince?

Hi all!

Welcome to Day 3 of the 30 Day Disney Blogging Challenge in April!

Yesterday, I discussed my favourite Disney Princess so naturally today, I must share my favourite Disney Prince. You will notice a lot of my answers stem from the more classic, traditional Disney movies and this is because I grew up watching those films the most. As you can tell by the featured image, my Disney Prince of choice is:

PRINCE PHILIP!

From my Tsum Tsum Sticker Collection!

Why does Philip come out on top over all the other dashing princes? Well, for a number of reasons actually:

1.) Philip is a classic romantic. When he meets Aurora for the first time in the woods, instead of introducing himself like regular people would, he sings and dances with her to Once Upon A Dream which is one of my favourite Disney songs.

2.) Without knowing she is the Princess he was betrothed to since birth, Prince Philip believes he has fallen in love with a peasant girl. What a great guy! Nobody is above or beneath him. He even tells his father, King Hubert, that he will marry the girl he loves over what is expected of him.

3.) When Prince Philip learns that Aurora is under the sleeping curse, he fights for her with his Shield of Virtue and Sword of Truth to rescue her from the evil Maleficent. He is a true hero. No questions asked, he takes his weapons and does what is right.

4.) When Philip escapes Maleficent’s castle, cuts through all the thorns, slays the dragon and makes it up to Aurora’s bedchamber, he awakens her with true love’s kiss. If that isn’t a man worth marrying, I don’t know what is!

5.) Prince Philip isn’t some fancy pants, haughty Prince. He has quite a good sense of humour. When King Hubert tells him he must marry a Princess, Prince Philip retorts: “Father you are living in the past, it is now the 14th century.”

6.) That fashionable red cap!

Prince Philip was the first Disney Prince to be given a proper name and is a tribute to the Duke of Edinburgh married to Elizabeth II. He has more speaking lines than Aurora but is mute for the entire second half of the film. He is brave, charming, selfless and kind. A pretty well-rounded guy if I do say so myself!

Honourable Mention

Prince Eric from The Little Mermaid

Who is your favourite Disney Prince? Why? Are you more of a classic or modern Disney lover? I will see you tomorrow for Day 4!

Peace & Love xoxo

  1. Haha, Phillip is handsome. He also is a very charming and suave man too 😀 It would be a toss up between Eric and Aladdin for me…both of them come across as kind hearted but also courages and out-there brave at the same time!
