Today I’m looking at a romantic scene that sets my heart fluttering. It’s a moment that makes me swoon and sigh. Disney movies in general are very romanticised. They believe in Happily Ever After’s, Prince Charming’s and Love Overcoming All Evil. I am the biggest romantic I know with a heart full of the same beliefs and values. ONCE UPON A DREAM

 Princess Aurora (Briar Rose) has grown up in the forest with her 3 ‘aunts’: Flora, Fauna & Merryweather. On the morning of her 16th birthday, she is asked to leave the house and pick some berries so the fairies can prepare for a surprise party. Like all classic Disney Princesses, Aurora has a beautiful singing voice and befriends all animals very easily. In the woods, she recalls a dream she had about meeting a handsome prince and begins to sing Once Upon A Dream whilst dancing with her furry friends.

Unbeknownst to her, Prince Phillip hears her melodic voice and follows it. He sneakily takes the place of the owl pretending to be him (wearing his clothes) and joins in. At first she is startled and tries to move away but he reassures her that he is not a stranger because they have indeed met before…Once Upon A Dream.

I know you, that look in your eyes is so familiar a gleam
And I know it’s true that visions are seldom all they seem

As the song predicts, they dance through the forest together and fall instantly in love. It’s such a beautiful piece of music and the scene is just captivating. Who wouldn’t love to dance with a handsome stranger through the woods? It is simply beautiful. It is my version of romance at its best.

  1. I really like the photo of Aurora and the owl together. So cute! The moment that Belle and the Beast dance is one of my favourite Disney romantic moments. Doesn’t matter how you look like and where you’ve come from, you will be still be attracted to the person for whom they are 🙂
