November Favourites 2017!

Hi all!

Welcome to my November Favourites for 2017. This month was fairly busy like all the rest. I attended World Vegan Day, Beyond The Eye and more. I also read a few great books and worked on personal-projects which will be revealed in time. Without further ado, let’s get into it!

THE BEST OF NOVEMBER:

1.) YouTuber – Lavendaire

I am so happy that I found Aileen Xu from the YouTube Channel Lavendaire. She’s a beautiful, inspirational woman that talks a lot about self-love, meditation, journaling, minimalism, travel, creativity, health and more. I first fell in love with the video above and spent all of November binge-watching her content. Aileen is one of those multi-talented people you can’t help but admire. She is a singer, a skilled artist, photographer and entrepreneur. Every year she creates the Artist of Life Workbook that has over 60 pages of writing prompts, to assist you in following your dreams and becoming successful whilst doing so. I would highly recommend checking out her website/blog/videos if you want to kick-start your confidence and be inspired. 

2.) Book – Undercover Princess by Connie Glynn (Noodlerella)

If I hadn’t discovered Noodlerella’s YouTube channel last year, I never would’ve bought her debut novel that was released this month. Connie is such a talented, sweet girl from London. I’m so proud of all the work she put into this book. I pre-ordered it months ago so I would receive a signed copy. This is the first installment of her brand new series, The Rosewood Chronicles. It follows Lottie Pumpkin (cute name!) who unexpectedly finds herself roommates with the Princess of Maradova, Ellie Wolf at boarding school, Rosewood Hall. Due to a series of lies and coincidences, 14-year-old Lottie finds herself pretending to be the princess so that Ellie can live a more normal, teenage life. With her false identity in tow, Lottie is thrust into the real world of royalty – filled with secrets, intrigue and betrayal. I cannot wait to read this!

3.) Movie – Murder On The Orient Express

Did you know I own the entire collection of Agatha Christie’s works? I love her classic murder mysteries. My absolute favourite is Evil Under The Sun but I have by no means read them all…yet. When I saw that her iconic Murder on the Orient Express was being released as a film in November with such a high-profile cast, I had to go see it. Luckily, I didn’t remember much of the book so I was pleasantly surprised with the twist reveal. As you can imagine, this story follows a detective that investigates a murder aboard the Orient Express during his travels. Kenneth Branagh made an excellent Hercule Poirot! The filming and cinematography was also stunning. I truly enjoyed this adaptation.

4.) Event – Beyond The Eye

You are probably wondering what Beyond The Eye is? Basically, for one night only at the Melbourne Athenaeum Theatre, astrophysicist Alan Duffy and television producer Cara Santa Maria came together to delve into the secrets of the universe. My husband is very passionate about science so I surprised him with tickets for our wedding anniversary to this event on the 17th. It was so interesting and mind-blowing. They discussed the shrinking ‘Moon Illusion’, why stars appear to wander across the sky, how the twinkling of a star can tell us how big it is, the science behind mirages and how galaxies are organised into ‘cosmic webs.’ I learnt so much about our incredible universe. It was a great evening.

5.) Enamel Pin – Bob’s Burger’s Series

I love Bob’s Burgers with a passion. It makes me laugh hysterically and I adore all of the characters, especially feisty Louise. When I saw that the new Bob’s Burger’s Enamel Pin Series was being released, I pre-ordered a pack. It arrived this month and I was so excited to rip the bag open. When I opened up the packet, I got Tina! She is my second favourite character! Tina is so relatable and hilarious. I really want to collect the entire cast.

6.) Game – Stranger Things on IOS/Android 

I just want to say that the entire Season 2 of Stranger Things was so epic. I was hooked from start to finish. After the finale, I began playing the free game on my iPhone and became obsessed. The graphics are so old-school with lots of nostalgic flair and the story is super fun. You play as Jim Hopper, navigating the town of Hawkins collecting characters and saving everybody from the evil monsters that prowl The Upside Down. I played through the main storyline in a matter of days but there are lots of side-quests and fun things to collect throughout. I would highly recommend downloading it.

7.) Home Decor – Fake Plants

I’m terrible at keeping real plants alive but I love how beautiful they can make a home. The perfect compromise? Fake plants! I bought the two above from Daiso for only $2.50 each but I know IKEA has an even larger range for sale. Once we move into our house I will definitely be stopping there to stock up. I don’t really have much more to say about them – they are simply beautiful and versatile.

8.) Memory – Best Moment of November 2017

On November 15th, the results of the gay-marriage equality vote were revealed with the majority saying yes. I cried the happiest tears knowing that finally, our country would legalise marriage for same-sex couples. To be honest, it was very embarrassing that we had to have this vote to begin with. What right do any of us have to decide if other people should get married or not? It is an extremely backwards way of thinking. However, as the results were positive, most of the Australian public celebrated this joyful moment in history. LOVE IS LOVE!

Thank you for reading. I hope you enjoyed. What were you loving in November? I cannot believe Christmas is in a matter of weeks. Our family’s theme this year is ‘Around the World’ – we all picked a different country out of a hat and have to dress up as something associated with that country. I can’t reveal mine as we are all going to surprise each other on Christmas Eve. I’ll definitely get photos though so stay tuned!
