The Goodreads Book Tag!

Hi all!

I am back with another tag today that will revolve entirely around Goodreads. If you aren’t sure what Goodreads is, it’s a website that allows you to rate, review and track all the books you’ve read along with plenty of other features/functions. You are more than welcome to add me on there – just click here to do so. I started using it properly at the beginning of 2017 so you will only see books recorded for that year and 2018 thus far. Trust me, I’ve read a lot more than that total in my lifetime! I’m not sure who created the original tag, but I sourced my questions from Blogs of a Bookaholic. Click the title to read her responses. As this is a platform I use daily, I figured I should complete the tag. Let’s get into it!

1.) What Was The Last Book You Marked As ‘Read’?

The last book I marked as ‘read’ was The Bridge in the Clouds (Book #4 in the Magician’s House Quartet) by William Corlett. I finished it on January 17th.

2.) What Are You Currently Reading?

I always read 3 books at a time – Audio, Kindle and Physical. At this point in time, I’m currently reading:

Audio: The Son of Neptune (Book #2 in the Heroes of Olympus Series) by Rick Riordan.

Kindle: Strange the Dreamer (Sassy Book Club pick for January 2018) by Laini Taylor.

Physical: The One Memory of Flora Banks by Emily Barr.

3.) What Was The Last Book You Marked As ‘To Read’?

Once again, I always have 3 books marked as ‘to read’ at a time.

Audio: The Mark of Athena (Book #3 in the Heroes of Olympus Series) by Rick Riordan.

Kindle: Vicious (Book #1 in the Villains Duology) by V.E Schwab.

Physical: One of Us is Lying by Karen McManus

4.) Do You Use The Star Rating System?

I do…but like most people, I have issues with it. I dislike the fact that you cannot rate something 3.5 for example. It either has to be a 3 or a 4. I don’t mind the star system being out of 5 but I wish I could give half-ratings.

5.) Are You Doing The 2018 Reading Challenge?

I certainly am! Last year, I read a total of 81 books which was amazing. I don’t believe I’ll hit that high a number this year as I have big things coming up so I set my Reading Challenge goal to 45. As of today, Monday January 22nd, I have read a total of 5 books. Not bad!

6.) Do You Have A Wishlist?

No and I’m not interested in using one. I keep a separate document saved on my computer that has my gigantic TBR list on it.

7.) Who Are Your Favourite Authors?

So many! Anne Rice, Rainbow Rowell, Darren Shan, Jay Kristoff, Cassandra Clare, Sarah J. Maas, Cate Tiernan, John Green, Agatha Christie, Enid Blyton, Emily Bronte, Oscar Wilde, Rick Riordan, Amie Kaufman, Marissa Meyer, Nicola Yoon, Tommy Wallach, Ernest Cline and more!

8.) Have You Joined Any Groups?

I have only joined one group: The Sassy Book Club. It’s free and doesn’t require approval from the administrator. Booktuber MissSassyKassie has launched her very first book club this year which I decided to join. The January pick (as seen in question #2) is Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor. There will be a live show hosted on her channel at the end of the month to discuss the book. I am loving it so far!

9.) How Many Shelves Do You Have?

I have created 4 shelves. They are named: 2017, Blew-Me-Away-Books-2017, 2018 and Blew-Me-Away-Books-2018. I like to group my books by year and record the ones that really stole my heart.

I hope you enjoyed this post! If you wish to do this tag, feel free. Let me know and I’ll read your responses. Thank you for reading.

Peace & Love xoxo

  1. The Goodreads group looks so interesting! One of my resolutions was to join a book club and to interact with other readers more, so I will definitely follow your suggestion! 😊

  2. I am always amazed at how many books your read! Three books going at once all on different formats, wow. Joining something like a book tag or book clubs as Bookish Rita suggested can make reading more fun. That way you can feel like you have a goal with reading. That said, nothing wrong with reading for leisure and putting a book aside if it doesn’t resonate with you. Gook luck with the Goodreads tag. Hope you are well my friend xxx
