Hi all!
Today I am bringing you the Stay At Home Book Tag created by Princess of Paperback on YouTube. Click the name to watch their video. It seemed fitting to do this tag during the pandemic. I imagine the majority of us are holed up at home reading more than ever! Also, I recently participated in the Book Covers as Outfits trend on Twitter, so I will be sharing those photographs throughout this post. Without further ado, let’s get into it!
1.) Lay In Bed: What is a book you have OR would read in one sitting?
I remember reading Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets in one sitting the day I bought it home from the bookstore. I was so hooked! I’m pretty sure I did the same with Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
2.) Snacking: What is a guilty pleasure book?
I love a good horror novel, which I guess would be considered a guilty pleasure? I recently did a blog post on all my guilty pleasures. Click here to check it out!
3.) Netflix: What is a series you want to start?
The Zom-B series by Darren Shan. I am such a big fan of his demon and vampire sagas that I’m curious to see how he does zombies. They have been on my TBR for the longest time and finally, they are available to borrow at my local library!
4.) Deep-Clean: What is a book that’s been on your TBR for ages?
The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. I received it as a gift last year from my sister and I still haven’t started it! I’m hoping to get into it next month when the Bookemon is over.
5.) Animal Crossing: What is a book you recently bought because of the hype?
I recently bought Me and White Supremacy by Layla F. Saad because it was quite hyped up on a podcast episode I listened to. The reason I bought the physical copy is because it’s an actual workbook you have to journal through. I’m looking forward to seeing how significantly it will impact my life.
6.) Productivity: What is a book you learned from OR had an impact on you?
A book that had a huge impact on me was Boys Will Be Boys by Clementine Ford. It taught me so much about gender culture, sexism, women’s rights and how to raise children in a society that is already fraught with inequality.
7.) FaceTime: What is a book you were gifted?
My husband bought me the full, remastered colour edition of House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski. This book is also on my TBR for the Bookemon. I have wanted to read it for the longest time. It is said to be one of the scariest horror novels in history. I wish I could show you all how stunning my copy is!
8.) Self-Care: What is something you’ve done recently to take care of yourself?
I have been reading a lot, taking baths, going for walks in nature, riding my bike, spending time with my family and eating nourishing food.
9.) BONUS QUESTION: Discuss a book that is coming out soon…
I have to discuss The Ballads of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins! It will be released this month on the 19th and I am so excited to read it! It is said to be a prequel to The Hunger Games, following the origin story of President Snow. I’m super curious to find out how the man became a monster…
Please let me know if you do this tag too! I would love to read your responses. I hope you enjoyed this post. Thanks so much for reading!
Peace & Love xoxo
