My Spooky TBR Cart Tour! (October Bookclub Pick Reveal!)

Hi all!

Today I am sharing a very exciting post! I will not only be giving you a tour of my new TBR (To Be Read) Cart, I will also be revealing The You’ll Read Too Bookclub pick for October! Hopefully this gives you enough time to pick up a copy; whether physically, electronically or on audio. On November 1st AEST (time TBD), there will be an Instagram Live over on the official page discussing the book, as well as a post on here with prompts/trivia questions. Please feel free to join in. It’s going to be a lot of fun! Without further ado, let’s get into the post.

TBR Carts are incredibly popular among book-lovers. I ordered mine in rose gold here. Owners love to decorate them and display books they have yet to read. In keeping with the concept of my spooky bookclub, I decided to theme my cart: ‘Halloween Forever.’ I’m going to share how I use it and include all links for the materials I purchased.

Obsessed!

My cart is divided into three sections: 1.) Pumpkins, 2.) Nightmare Before Christmas & 3.) Witches. The spooky decal stickers can be found here. I love how striking they look against the metallic trays.

TRAY 1 – PUMPKINS

On the first tray, I have these adorable felt pumpkins from Etsy alongside the large Jack-O-Lantern stickers. On the base of each tray, I have quilting pumpkin fabric that I measured and cut into equal sized pieces. This also came from Etsy. I’ll show you what it looks like in a moment. On top of my books I have two Pennywise figurines, a fake plant and a skull I found in an antique store when I was a teenager. It’s one of my most prized possessions and I named him Murray after the talking skull in The Monkey Island game franchise.

This tray holds all of the physical books I own that I haven’t read yet.

TRAY 2 – NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS

On the second tray, I have my beloved Oogie Boogie statue plus Jack and Sally Tsum Tsums. I added the spiderweb stickers for an extra Halloween Town effect.

This tray holds all of the books I’ve either borrowed from the library or from other people that I haven’t read yet.

TRAY 3 – WITCHES

On the third tray (note the pumpkin fabric I mentioned earlier), I have bat stickers on the front and my Shadowhunter Tarot Cards plus rose quartz stones at the back.

This tray holds books I’ve either borrowed from the library or from other people that I’ve finished and need to return.

And now to reveal October’s book club pick!

THE CARROW HAUNT by DARCY COATES!

I am so excited to read this book! Darcy is a female Australian author who has written many horror novels however, this particular one is rated the highest on Goodreads. Released in 2018, it follows Remy, a tour-guide for the notoriously haunted Carrow House. When she’s asked to host seven guests for a week-long stay to research the supposed phenomena within, Remy hopes to finally witness something spooky. Pretty soon, things start to go horribly wrong. A guest winds up dead, doors open on their own, red liquid seeps behind the wallpaper and a spirit medium wanders the halls at night in a trance. These mysterious circumstances force Remy to consider the possibility that the ghost of the house’s original owner (a twisted serial killer) is behind it all…

As I mentioned in my bookclub post, I will include a corresponding song to listen to and a film/show to watch if you wish. These are purely optional and for fun!

The Song – Haunted by Evanescence

The Show – The Haunting of Bly Manor (coming to Netflix October 9th!)

I really hope you enjoy this novel. If you have already read it, feel free to either re-read it or just stick around for the blog post/Live Instagram discussion to share your thoughts. I will write up five discussion prompts to talk about and three trivia questions that will get progressively tougher.

In October, I will post three options for November’s pick on Instagram that you’re all welcome to choose from.

Let me know what you thought of my TBR Cart and if you’re planning to join the bookclub. I’ve already had a few people interested which makes me very happy. Thank you to everybody who has expressed interest so far. All are welcome.

Thanks for reading. Peace & Love xoxo
