‘Frog World’ – Sensory Play Activity for Toddlers!

Hi all!

In 2020, I bought the book: 150+ Screen-Free Activities for Kids by Asia Citro.

I finally got around to doing one of the activities with Abigail this month and I thought I would share it with you all. I highly recommend investing in this book. It’s such a valuable asset to have at any time, but especially during a global pandemic. We decided to try ‘Frog World’ and here are the results!

WHAT YOU’RE GOING TO NEED

– Large bin or container

– Glass gems

– Green foam sheets (I could only find plain white so I coloured it in with green marker).

– Water

– Blue food colouring

– Rubber frogs

HOW TO ASSEMBLE IT

1.) In your large bin or container, scatter the glass gems

2.) Cut lily pad shapes out of the green foam sheets

3.) Add water and lily pads to the container. Add a few drops of the blue food colouring to create a deeper blue shade.

4.) Add your frogs!

THE RESULT!

This was really simple but fun. We took it outside on the grass and Abi made the frogs hop on and off the lily pads. She also collected the blue gems in her bucket and pushed the floating froggies around. She was very protective of the frogs and asked about how they were the next day.

I would definitely do it again!

Let me know if you’ve tried this activity before or some variation of it. If you liked this post and would like me to try more of these sensory ideas from the book, let me know. Thanks for reading!

Peace & Love xoxo
