Francis and I met nearly 7 years ago when we were set up by somebody who thought we would be good together. We talked everyday for over a month until we decided to meet in person and the rest was history. That person was right ☺️ we fell in love straight away and have been together ever since - now married and parents to our beautiful daughter that we treasure so dearly. I’m thankful for the kind, loving, generous, compassionate man I call my husband. He’s currently suffering through personal health issues and whilst it has been hard on him, I’m proud of his strength. I’ve been putting off reading this book for over a year now because it sounds exactly like my kind of story and I’m worried it will disappoint. Does anybody else do this? Set in alternate Victorian England, there lives a world where clock towers control time. A slight fracture in a clock tower can disrupt the flow of time itself. Destroying a clock tower means time stops altogether. This is the first book in a steampunk trilogy and I’m hoping against hope it hits my best books of 2020 list! It’s funny how many years I spent going to therapy talking the hours away and in only three sessions of EMDR, I’ve learned so much about myself, my triggers, vulnerabilities, strengths and ways to slowly dim the trauma living inside my body. I definitely recommend EMDR for anybody who has experienced trauma/is living with PTSD. Regular therapy is fantastic for those needing to express themselves but for much deeper work, you may need something more intensive. #emdrtherapy #emdr #therapy #mentalhealth #selfcare #ptsd #love #travel #wanderlust

When I was 16, my mum wanted to help develop my skills as a budding writer so she signed me up to study with Eve, a playwright and author in our hometown. Eve soon became one of my closest friends and a mentor to me. She believed in my books and pushed me to finish them. She would call me her Angel Niece and she was my Angel Aunt. She passed away in my early 20’s after a long battle with cancer and I miss her every day. I gave my daughter Abigail the middle name Eve to honour her. Before she died, she wrote her first book Killer Mackenzie. I read it once when I was 18 and twelve years later I have picked it up again. Every page reminds me of her. Her humour and heart. I love this book because it’s a piece of her I can hold onto forever. I added some emails she sent me (swipe across -sorry they are a bit cut out). I’m so glad I kept every single bit of correspondence to her and one day I can show my daughter this book and tell her she was named after a wonderful, bright and sassy woman. I just posted a blog titled ‘Do All Vegans Think The Same’ which is a response to the video created by @jubileemedia in 2019. Five different vegans from all walks of life had to respond to six different statements regarding veganism. It was amazing to see their answers and varied explanations. I answered those same statements in my blog post. From when I went vegan in 2013 to now, I’ve definitely changed my mindset and see that things aren’t so black and white as I originally felt. I used to be so angry at the world and couldn’t understand how people didn’t see the same injustices I was seeing. Friends would tell me they were cutting out honey or only using cruelty-free makeup and instead of praising them, I told them to cut out more. I’m not that person anymore. I live peacefully as a vegan but I don’t push it on anyone. That’s get us nowhere. I would prefer to live by quiet example and focus on the positive changes being made rather than what others are not doing. I’m never going to claim veganism is for everyone because for some (depending on where they live or allergies they have) it just simply isn’t an option. I don’t call myself an activist because I’m not. I’m just someone trying to do the least harm possible.
