July 6th – My 5 Senses Right Now…

Hi all!

Welcome to Day 6 of my 31 Day Blogging Challenge in July! Today, I will be sharing my 5 senses in the present moment. This one was really fun and allowed me to get creative! I took the opportunity to get out in the cold & rain which was challenging but after a while, became a fun scavenger hunt for the senses! As I no longer have a YouTube channel (which had a video showing my 5 senses), I will tell you what I experienced:

HEAR – The Rain & Fountain

TOUCH – Vegan Noodle Packet & Fern Leaves

SMELL – Old Books & Eucalyptus Oil

TASTE – Sweet Potatoes for lunch & kissing Francis

SEE – Angel Statue at Melbourne University, Prayer Flags in our home & a photo of us dressed as Gomez & Morticia.

This activity taught me a really valuable lesson about mindfulness. When we are truly present, we can appreciate what our fingers touch, our eyes see, our noses smell, our ears hear and our tongues taste. By utilising these 5 senses, we can stay in the moment and experience true peace. It’s incredible what we can witness around us when we decide to pay attention. This type of mindfulness can ease anxiety and depression. It keeps us here when our minds wish to wander or worry…

I hope you enjoyed today’s post and I shall see you tomorrow!

Peace & Love xoxo

  1. What a simple and sweet video, Bec. I love it how you showed us around your day, appreciating all our five senses. Haha, I wondered how those instant gluten free noodles taste. I saw a chicken one – I thought they were vegan? 😀

    1. Thanks Mabel! It was a fun video to make! Haha I would never eat chicken, the label says vegan ramen with ‘chicken flavour’ but it’s just spices and vegetables. Very yummy!
