My Favourite Vegan Eats In Hervey Bay

Hi all!

Last month, I shared some of my favourite places in Hervey Bay – you can check that out here. Today I am going to be listing some of the best vegan options in my new hometown. I am definitely cooking a lot more since we moved into our house but if I ever feel like venturing out, these are some great go-to’s. Without further ado, let’s get into it!

1.) Spotted Goat Kitchen

Located on the Esplanade, this funky cafe has several vegan options, including dishes that can be made plant-based on request. I ordered their Power Breaky Bowl and removed the egg, bacon and haloumi. It was delicious and so filling! I also grabbed their Healthy Goat smoothie to go (ask for almond milk). I highly recommend coming here on the weekend, having a nourishing breakfast and then going for a walk along the beach. A great way to start your day!

2.) Burger Urge

Feeling like a vegan burger that tastes exactly like meat? Burger Urge at Stockland Shopping Centre is the way to go! They have several plant-based options but I love their standard Vegan Cheeseburger with fries. The patty tastes so good, I don’t know how they do it. It’s also super kid friendly. Abigail was given a colouring book, stickers and pencils for ordering a children’s meal. It’s the perfect place to stop for lunch after a shopping session.

3.) Darryls Donuts

If you come to Hervey Bay, you have to visit Darryls Donuts at the Urangan markets. Every Wednesday and Saturday morning, you will find their van parked on the opposite end of the pier. All of their donuts are 100% vegan and gluten free. They are coated in flavoured sugars that are simply divine. My four-pack in the picture below includes Cinnamon, Choc-Mint, Rose and Chocolate. The dough is so warm and fluffy. Ahhh I want another one right now! Pick them up and check out the stalls for some great goodies.

4.) Arkarra Gardens Tea House

If you’re looking for a fancy eatery, you cannot go past the Arkarra Gardens Tea House. We went here for Mother’s Day and it was such a special treat. There are at least three to four plant-based options on the menu. I ordered the Gourmet Mushroom, which tasted amazing. They also serve hot drinks and sweets. Once you finish your meal, don’t forget to check out the Lagoon and surrounding walking trails. It’s a stunning area. You can even host your wedding reception there!

5.) JJN Sushi Chain

I want to shout-out JJN Sushi Chain at Stockland Shopping Centre because not only do they have plant-based options, they serve their food on a conveyor belt. It’s really fun! One afternoon, I ordered their Teriyaki Tofu Bowl to go and it was delicious. So many great flavours. The staff are super friendly as well. It’s another good option if you’re out shopping.

6.) Bayaroma Cafe

Also located on the Esplanade, opposite the Hervey Bay Sailing Club, is Bayaroma Cafe. It has several vegan/vegetarian options but I recommend the Green Bowl below. It is so tasty and surprisingly filling. In short, this is the perfect brunch place. I also grabbed their vegan Ginger & Spice Chai to go and drank it along the pier. It’s quite a large venue so you can comfortably bring a group of friends. I’m definitely going back.

7.) Su Jus Bar

Last but certainly not least, I am going to talk about Su Jus Bar because they are my favourite place on this list. I am a massive fan of bubble tea but the tannins make me feel ill. Well, this is the only franchise that offers cordial and fruit juice with tapioca pearls as an option. I cannot express how thrilled I am that this place exists. Abigail and I love coming here after her swimming lessons and sharing some boba. You can also order smoothie bowls and plant-based cafe meals! Please check them out. They have a store at Stockland Shopping Centre and Pialba Place Shopping Centre.

Thank you so much for reading! Please add any that I missed down below. I’m sure I will do a part two in the future.

Peace & Love xoxo
